Shafthole Press
Centre punch press
The axle hole press consists of a column-guided press with pneumohydraulic drive.
Mould change concept
The punching tool can be easily set up in the throughfeed direction of the system.
Shovel automation
The shovel automation takes the pre-cut blanks from the blank loader. After the cutting process, the finished blanks are removed from the press with the shovel automation and stacked on a mandrel. At the same time, a new sheet is inserted into the press and the scrap is disposed of.
Options
In combination with a coil line, discs can also be produced directly from the coil.
// Application example
Shafthole Press
Blank removal and centre hole punching
In this application example, a sheet removal system and an axle hole punching machine were developed to further process a sheet that previously accumulated as an axle hole or waste.
Thanks to the system concept, the waste blank can be removed from a cutting system and then a new blank with a centre hole can be produced using the centre hole punching machine and automation.
This significantly reduced the amount of material used and meant that no new sheets had to be procured, resulting in a considerable reduction in costs.

Questions and answers
An axle hole punching machine produces discs for electric motors and generators from waste sheet metal.
Axle hole punches are used to manufacture electrical sheets (discs) for electric motors.
An axle hole is punched in the centre of a blank (circular electrical steel) using a punching tool. The electrical steel is then processed further.
As a rule, the centre punch is operated at 10–12 strokes per minute. This depends on the size and complexity of the component.
We currently offer punching machines with a punching force of 50 – 80 tonnes.
It usually takes around 12 months from order to delivery.
The centre punch has a modular design and is very easy to maintain.
Hagel Automation specialises in the design and construction of axle hole punching machines and the entire automation process. Hagel Automation supplies efficient, modern and high-precision systems in the field of electrical sheet production.

Electrical sheets of all types and sizes. Electrical sheets are used to manufacture electrical sheets for motors and generators for wind power, hydropower and drive technology.
Currently, sheets with a diameter of 35 mm to 1300 mm are processed. The current trend is towards larger diameters of up to 1800 mm.
